Trans women are women so having a cis man play one is ridiculous. And it’s the same the other way around. It reinforces the idea that trans people are just “men dressing up as women” or “women dressing up as men.” It’s disrespectful and harmful. Plus there aren’t nearly enough roles out there for trans actors, so giving specifically trans roles to cis actors is incredibly unfair. I wouldn’t mind seeing a trans actor playing a cis role though but I mean that doesn’t happen often if even at all.
